versatility of their hair
the beauty of pigmentation
thickness of their skin
designed for resilience against the struggles they would face

a force of nature
when bonded together as one
as a nation
is strong enough to move mountains

they are the foundation upon which we stand
the path they have walked
and made this trail before us
they held the torch
and brought us to the light

our ancestors
our mothers
our friends
our sisters
our daughters
these incredible women

from fros to curls
from boys to girls
their work has inspired many
